Reading by Fire Hydrant - Political Must Knows!
Recent Barna Group Survey states that the 2008 election is up for grabs! Basically, this is what I have been saying behind the scenes of my notes. However, I do not relish the thought - it is absolutely scary. What's worse - we have an electoral college that has mostly voted per the populace. The EC was established to guard against the ignorance of the populace; however, in the nation's history the 99% of the time the EC has voted as we do. Bummer. We are less informed, yet swallow more information in one day than even our parents did in several ... let alone what the young 13 original states dealt with. However, the quality of information we are forced to listen to is horrible and is largely a few second sound bite to a few minute news worthy report - filled with sound bites and "what they want us to know" information.
Add to that the school system that churns out meat heads en masse. There are a fortunate few that survive with half a brain or more that functions in reality and not the messed up historically inaccurate agenda that is pushed worse than drugs in the school!
And then, we are to vote. Vote and contribute to the single biggest decision of our nation. With one swipe of the pencil, click of the mouse, touch of the screen (or whatever action established by your state - God forbid we have stupid states left after the 2000/2004 elections where punch cards are still employed!) we effectively write history for 4 - 6 years or more. Clinton thinks he was good - not entirely true, he reaped much of his success - including the economy - from the Reagan/Bush leadership. Bush JR has forever fought Clinton's lack of backbone with the terrorist issues - terrorism was Clinton's legacy - period. He has paid dearly for it.
Inarguablly, the single largest, no brain reason why great care, discipline and knowledge should be accessed in the 2008 vote is this: When we select a President and we choose who will actually be nominated for the vacancies on the Supreme Court. I just read today, in an article I reference that six Supreme Court seat will reach the age of 70 in the next several years. WOW! Do you wish to remain American by nature of our Founding Fathers or do you wish to see America drastically change by judges who disregard the Constituion and the idealogies we were founded on?
Regardless of party affiliation, the more liberal the candidate the less constructional and constitutional the nomination will be. And this is something we need no help with - the trial lawyers are running amuck, amuck, amuck. McCain will at least stifel and put up a fight for more constructional type nominations.
I do not think our Founding Fathers could have ever imagined an ignorance, such a poor moral compass or lack of ethics in the political race as we see today. They would go nuts! This brings be back to Barack Hussein Obama - that's right, used his full name. Folks, they would absolutely go nuts. Sure, he is smooth, calm, non-retaliative and seems like he is on the fast track to the office. But then what? ...like the country song: we wait for "...fate to kick us in the butt!"?
No, wise up, pull yourself away from reality TV and the Clinton Broadcasting System (CBS) or the Clinton News Network and educate yourself! McCain may not be the best thing for us, but we do not have much else to go with...but at least we pick up less pieces in 2012! Not only that but he will fight terrorism, and will not put our Nation into the hands of those who wish to destroy us. The scary socialist ideas of Clinton and the scarier Nation of Islam that is silently sitting behind Obama is going to be very hard to un-work. I am telling you - don't drink the Koolaid - educate and make a good decision.
Otherwise, be politically sterile! Don't go out there and propagate yourself - stupidity breeds stupidity like maggots. Just shut up and let the people who really work hard and care about this Great Nation come to the voting booth for the decision. WE do NOT need busloads of ignorance ransacking the election.
Why, because the one time we need the Electoral College to change their oath to vote a certain way based on the popular vote - they won't.
