Clinton Takes Texas and Ohio - Elephants on Charge!
Interesting day. Clinton pulled off nearly all states in the second largest primary for the 2008 election year. But more interesting and even sad is the fact that the media is so up in arms that the Republicans, Conservatives and specifically Rush Limbaugh had an impact on the primary - effectively disrupting their new star's rise to the White House. They have cried fowl all day because Conservative talk shows and Republicans effectively stepped across the aisle and voted for Clinton.
What is funny in all this - I subscribe to the obvious thought about how the Democrats crossed over and voted for McCain. Same reasoning - and it was not to see him in the White House in the fall. Yet the liberal media cannot stand it when anyone else uses their tactics to effectively disrupt their plan.
Regardless of your thoughts about Rush, you gotta admit - especially if you call yourself conservative - he has good thoughts, plans and points. He also received tons of quality free advertisement today in the media.
Fact is, and I have stated this in my blog several times - the Republicans have wasted 8 yrs. They screwed up on their mandate. They screwed up on acting
credibly and confidently - so now we appear weak, undecided, divided and without direction. We appear to be satisfied with the status
quo or what will be the status
quo....but we should have groomed a better candidate.
But really, this is not not even an original idea - I do not think. Rush has stated again today that the Republicans have got to fight - and where is our fight? Why will we not fight? What will it take for us to fight? We must get over the fact that we do not have "the candidate we want" or that "Bush screwed up." Get over it!! Now, let's get behind McCain - there is too much at stake. We can voice what we want to see happen and be "the people" that will direct policy.
We must fight. The glimmer of fight started yesterday at the voting booths. Clinton is still in the race and closed the gap of delegates. Pennsylvania is next. Let us keep the ball rolling. With a fight, we can see the White House. We can then voice the American desire to be strong globally, in defense, in capital, we can state our desire to tighten the borders. We can make strides to correct problems within our
healthcare - it is a huge issue. But we do not want - no matter what the media says - government controlled
healthcare.
Keep the fight. Gain knowledge. Spread the word.
Next up: what about Obama's weak stance on NAFTA? Likely, this heavily influenced voters in Ohio. Of course, Clinton threw the heavy artillery towards this - yet, Mr. Clinton signed it into existence....and Bush One, sent it to Senate.....
Beware the Ides of March
Made famous by Shakespeare, in
Julius Caesar, the Ides of March was a time in which the Romans would reference in jest - but often to emphasize impending doom. Shakespeare made it even more
prominent through his play about the
assassination of
Caesar..."Beware the Ides of March"
Caesar was told by a seer of the day. And, the rest is history.
While I do not think anything will happen on the Ides of March (15
th), I do think the fact that it is the first of March and now just six months until the Election by the
Populace - that it bears a good thought.
The government is of the people, by the people and for the people. The
Liberatores thought that
Caesar was out of hand. Obviously, their course of action was not the best. But we can learn from history and keep America off the track of destruction by placing in power officials that understand their position is not to be abused but to be a conduit of
law giving by the people.
Our Constitution is to be used not to oppress us but protect us. Over the last several decades we have spiralled out of control when it comes to the
legislation from the bench. We have looked the other way to long through our Representatives and Senators. Something must be done regarding Article II of our Constitution, as well as, Amendment 14.
The reason: the growing topic about John McCain's
Canal Birth. It comes down to the fact that our Founders were very smart. They established our government in such a way that only
"natural-born citizens may become President." Rightly so, I mean, who wants any
descendant of Hitler in the White House?
Ok, extreme... But that is the idea behind the protection.
So for McCain, does birth in the American, Armed Forces Hospital in American Owned Panama (at the time) count? Wow. So, you are saying that those born in
Iraq, Vietnam, Okinawa, Turkey, Germany,
France or any other country while serving the United States and its people through the position of soldier or military
personnel could not become President? Wow. That is big. Huge potential slap in the face for those who place their lives on the line and have given their lives for us!
Let me add this to those who argue it: Mexicans freely cross the Rio
Grande and illegally 'happen' into our advanced hospitals because they 'all the sudden' had labor pains...or something equally as foolish an
argument/explanation. They birth their child and their child is
natural born - and becomes an American citizen.
How wrong is that? -Illegal parents, leeching off our good will - and their child is considered one of us - kin to me. That child can become President of the US!?! And we are worried about McCain?
NOW, THAT IS A SCARY THOUGHT! And we sit here and ironically talk about McCain and his allegiance to the US - without a call to reconsider the 14
th Amendment? We are going to consider other children of US military
personnel as questionable - but this
illegitimate border child is really
legitimate??
WHERE HAS COMMON SENSE GONE? And, let's not stop there - holy cow, we have Asians,
Iraqis, French, Russian and a host of other potential sleepers! Do not get me wrong - I have friends of all nationalities, colore and religion - I am not against immigration, as I am a result of ancestors who immigrated - but they became citizens with effort.
Thus, I am not saying that those who have committed to the difficult process (and rightly so) of becoming a naturalized citizen should not be denied the right to
natural-born children. No, these persons have taken much time, care and study to becoming American. I have heard of years - 15 yrs even - that it has taken a husband and a wife to become naturalized. That is an arduous road. Their commitment, integrity and passion to be a full fledged citizen hopefully means that they agree, accept and
promulgate the ideals of America. These people deserve full recognition. Sadly, I would say, some of these take their American Citizenship more seriously than those of us calling ourselves American!
It is the scum and leeches that have no respect or integrity; who lie, steal and deceive in order to benefit - these, these we are long overdue in stopping. EVEN most European countries have changed their laws against "BIRTH=CITIZENSHIP." They got smart ....... back in the 80's! Problem is, they have rioting from these non-citizens. It cannot stop at ending birth-rights; rather, we must realize that illegal immigration is a problem. It must be addressed. Melting pot - fine; we are who we are today because of it. But those that came, melted, and became American. I fear to day, that we are not melting but clotting...
So, back to McCain - this is just a horrible glop of mud being thrown out to derail the election process and scare people from truth, push a few ignorant Clinton News Network followers to vote for someone
Natural-born. I hope those in office like Senator Nickels, OK, will stand up and fight the good fight and consider an
argument much like I have outlined here. Though McCain has been a bit of a sore spot in the
Republican Party, hopefully, there will be no Brutus-es whom stab him in the back...like
Caesar.
