Super Swirly!
Due to being an entrepreneur and new business owner....I have been offline for several months. I started a roofing business and travel business this summer and lost a lot of free time .... 24 hrs is not enough! Needless to say, we got flushed. I proudly stand with the 57,155,296 citizens of this great land to vote for the experienced American candidate. I hate that California, New York, Chicago and other left-ist hotspots control the Presidency. Not only that, but I wonder how many false votes were cast... Never the less, Obama is the next President. I have noted my thoughts on the silver lining below. I wrote the following shortly after the results were confirmed on 11/4/08.
Can you imagine a loss on the Democrat side? Maybe the silver lining is that we don't have riots because the immaturity and hate that so embodies the Democratic force. Watching McCain's concession....I was so struck by the total silence, calm, control, class and honor. From the many hours listening to radio (NPR, 1000am OKC, XM-Power, and XM-Fox/CNN) this would not have been the response had Obama lost. Just picture in your mind the two Black Panther's intimidating voters in PA. Think of P.Diddy's comments. With the mass of people on the "front porch" of the White House...I would hope nothing would have happened had the results been different. It is good that no one has been hurt tonight and the stepped up security and police force in many cities was a precaution that did not have to be used.
Nevertheless, here we are. In the name of THE OFFICE, I congratulate Obama, he is historic and I am glad that we are now past a myth that there was a glass ceiling to the highest offices of the land...but follow quickly with "do not desecrate that Office!" Nor allow Michelle...I suspect she is proud to be American a second time tonight. (Since writing this...anyone find it odd that Michelle has been absent from her husband? Or, that Biden has been quiet?)
As for his "experience," may I just add: Truly had any other man or woman lacking so heavily in qualities and accomplishments...they would never have even been on the ballot.....I know I wouldn't have been, and I am only a short seven years younger than he.
So, as good citizens, I imagine many of us will go on with life and roll with the punches. What I am hoping is that many of us will take it one step further and press to win a true America back. There is much to do:
Prayer. That of course is first and foremost. Why we are in this spot - who knows. God is in control and prayer is what will get us through it. God's hand may still protect us from outside attacks and we can only pray that the potential for attack are small, if any. (It has been very quiet....though I read today that S. Korea's Nuke facility1 is going forth and their missile launchers can go the distance.) Further, prayer that Obama is protected and strengthened/guided through his Presidency. Prayer for the Secret Service as well....recall that they have families and their lives will be on the line every day - possibly more than ever before.
Next to that is footwork. Emails. Letters. Phone Calls. Conversations. Education.
We are not socialist...this Great Country was built on Capitalism and has proven that Socialism, Tyranny and Dictatorial regimes are foolishness. But our public education system, liberal entities and each of us have allowed a failed philosophy to creep into our lives and come to fruition in a young charismatic man. Socialism has never worked. The only reason we are going for it is because, we have dabbled and enjoyed entitlements, we encourage failure and mediocrity, we have bailed out airlines, corporations and mortgage companies. In fact the democrats, Pelosi, are already talking about their next billion dollar stimulus package.2 When you keep giving...you tear down the man's desire to produce for himself.
It must stop. We cannot continue down this road. Try spending 10x your income every month.....yeah - that's what I thought. America can't do it either. The words of our Forefathers seem flat...Life, Liberty and the Pursuit (implicitly states action) of happiness. There is nothing we deserve but this.3 Sit on your butt and reap the rewards of your folly .... don't require me to pay for your stupidity and laziness. I work 60-80hrs a week for family, my home and property and for the ability to give 10-12% of my earnings to charity. Obama....in all his attempts at dodging accusations about his socialist lean...is at least supported in his spending habits....less than 3-5% on average since 2000.4 My 10% goes back to pre-teen years. I'm not tooting my horn - just point to a major flaw - Obama doesn't practice what he preaches.
So, regardless what Kool-Aid we drank as Americans, Obama's spending is going to require increased taxes on everyone. Just do simple math (not new math) there are only about 100 million people that have the types of income he addresses - roughly 5%. These people are smart enough to legally us the tax code to build their business and shelter their money. They won't pay high taxes and shouldn't....even if Warren Buffet did not support Obama - his taxes won't change. Yours will...mine will....that is for sure. Just watch as Bush's tax cut die off in 2010 and your tax liability increases over 3% instantly....not counting what he plans or is forced to add! This from Obama's mouth - and he thinks it is not much.5
Watching Obama, while historic; I feel cheated, violated, raped. We know nothing about this man - other than his call for "change." We were not told everything and we were fed a line. Last night, Tom Brokaw and some talking heads verified this and incredulous lauded Obama as a historic candidate...but one we nothing of ideally, politically or otherwise. I find that incredulous since the Media is supposed to report who the candidate is so that before election comes we can know "who" we vote for.
Today, a close friend of mine stated he overhead another voter in line. She indicated that she was undecided until learning that Obama's mom died and at that time decided she would be voting for him out of sympathy.... does your intelligence feel insulted?!
So many flags dancing in the light downtown in Chicago...and yet...he won't show proper respect to it.6
These are random thoughts....but I hope you will take up a solid stand for who America is and begin seeking that change in 2010 and definitely in 2012....if we still can. Seek to protect:
1) The first Amendment
2) The second Amendment
3) The Bill of Rights and Constitution as a whole
4) Stand for the unborn - deaths here make the Holocaust look like a party
5) Stand against the Fairness Doctrine - as it is FAR from fair!7
Educate yourself ... TURN OFF THE TV - read, listen to radio talk and get the full story
6) Campaign for Capitalism through friends and family in other states - especially NE and West Coast. Look at the map - America did not vote Obama...the blue states did.
7) Put your reps and senators in your cell phone and call them often about what you want to see happen. Do the same with the President 202-456-1111.
8) Teach children about challenges, let them fail incrementally in life according to their age - let them see that they can push through it. Keep them out of score-less sports programs. Encourage excellence - even at the expense of a slower child; but teach them how to lead others to do just as well. Teach them to save. Teach them to be business minded and seek ways to earn money - entrepreneurial (lawns, baby-sitting, internet)
I feel I failed America. Though I talked, I did not use my voice to change anything where it mattered. Though I called my reps, senators, McCain campaign, and the President...I did not reach out further. I bailed on my political blog due to lack of time....
But, America is stronger than Barak Hussein Obama - we must have a spine for the next years. And please, can we please groom for a solid, conservative, rational, appealing candidate? I'd take Palin-Jindal 2012 ticket any day....at this point! Or....Palin-Rice 2012! Wow - how would that fly? Certainly would end any shouts of Republicans being racist! Google either....I am not the first to think them!8

Distant Flushing Sound....
Good grief! We seem to be heading for the toilet! Dark Socialistic Clouds are looming on the horizon. Socialism and Fascism destroyed Europe. Ask the Canadians why they come here for medical care. Ask Ted Kennedy how he appreciated his recent medical treatment - was even given precedence over others that have been sicker longer. He wouldn't get that kind of treatment in a socialistic environment....oh, wait, yeah he would - cause he could afford to pay for it.
America throw off your entitlement and victimized mindset! Pull up your panies ... or boxers ... whichever, and quit whining like babies. Two short generations ago (62 years ago yesterday) men jumped off beach boats only to get shot and killed to the tune of over 5,000 in one day!! That doesn't count the Allies! I can guaran-dog-tee you that they weren't whimps!
The government is not your friend! It is the enemy - I'm tellin' you the more government you allow, the less freedom you have! Wake up, get off the bloomin' couch and make your life happen!
Consider the character, morality and strength of our great days and make it happen again - let's repeat history this way....not in the fashion of the Romans! George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Ronald Reagan - they effected change!
Buck up, take pride in your actions and seek to better America yourself - quit feeling like you DESERVE something - get out there and do it! GEESH!
SHUT UP OBAMA - your hot air is making me putrid beyond rational words.
Thanks - had to air frustration. I love this land and the blessing provided by God through it...hate to see it in the toilet - I don't mind reaching in and gettin' it out!
The trip to DC has been complete for four days now... but I remain forever changed and amazed at who America is and what it took for us to form into the Nation we are today, after spending a week in DC.
In reflection, I find that what has stuck with me has been one man. George Washington. I could have spent two days at
Mt. Vernon learning more about this man! Until my trip to DC, Abraham Lincoln was my favorite President. But I must say that George Washington has gained a whole new level of respect and admoraton after this trip.
Did you know that he is the single most
duplicated name in American History - think about it do you have a school in your town with Washington in the name, a street, library, a town or city in the state that bears his name, a national forest, etc.
There is a reason for that...and one that is sadly being forgotten in the lives of Americans today - especially the Young lives. Dare I say, "On purpose."? Washington was the most revered man in the early years of America. During the revolution, he rose from a not so stellar military history to a General with the respect few, if any, harbor today.
Washington was a man of action - rising from bed at pre-dawn hours to study and plan his day. He was a man of responsibility - he had many trusted and well cared for slaves...better understood as servants to him. He ceased production of tobacco when it proved to destroy his soil and he reaped very little from its sell. He took up fishing, wheat and various other farming opportunities to provide for very many family and servants on his plantation. He was a man of invention - testing, trying and perfecting farming and cropping to maximize provision and profits. He was a man of integrity - trusted, honored respected.
Though his writings and words are often ambiguous, I feel it reflects is desire to remain neutral to religion, and not endorse one religion in particular. I believe he believed in the
Christian God. It is clear that in the very least, he had a healthy understand of "the supreme being" and referenced his work in the lives of man. While on tour at Mt. Vernon it was suggested that he would rise early for study, & was most certainly grounded in the Scriptures. He contributed his protection and leadership to "divine providence." In one famous battle, in which he had to lead, due to the death of the British General his militia was assigned to, he noted several bullet holes in his clothing and hat and had two horses shot from beneath him. He said "divine providence" protected him.
After the French Revolution, came the American Revolution. Washington was now fighting the British he once fought with. Upon besting Cornwallis by trapping him in
Yorktown, Washington and the French forced surrender upon the British forces. This battle won the war and set the foundation for America's Independence to flourish. At this point in time, the Continental Congress wanted to make Washington King of America. He resigned his commission, handed the control of the American militia to congress "and the people" and let the public eye for over four years.
He could have let power go to his head. He could have been King. Today, we could be a nation or group of nations with a totally different face. Yet, because of one man's integrity, convictions, prophetic leadership and determination; we are The United States of America. It wasn't for another four years that he accepted the office of President - even then, he refused to take office longer than he did. Washington began the tradition of stating "so help me God" at the conclusion of being sworn in as President.
While very small aspects of my story above may be mis-quoted here or there, the context and spirit of the story is 100% accurate and true. The Washington Monument stands over 500 feet tall and EVERY inch to the top endorses, supports and champions the convictions of George Washington - were one able to take to the steps of the monument, scripture, quotes, prayers, religious entities and individuals would predominantly mark the walls to the observation area amongst less religious notes. Though, it is not overpowering, these saying and sentiments suggest the religiousity of this man - even
snopes.com has described fact and lore.
A mile or so away from the monument, lies Arlington National Cemetery. George's adopted/step son built a house to honor George Washington. Several of Washington's colleges (Jefferson, Franklin) have monuments and or buildings enshrining equal beliefs and sentiments. Even the Lincoln memorial echos Washington's desires for America.
Washington. George Washington. Had it not been for an old family will, he would have been buried smack in the middle of the Nation's Capital. At the time the Capital was built, it was dead in the middle of Washington DC - obviously, today, the city has grown. But today, there remains a star in the middle of the capital that was to be directly above his resting place.
Why? He was a great leader. I daresay that today, we are poorly staffed with public officials - no where near the caliber of our early beginnings. I wouldn't hold a candle to them myself. Sadly, America has decided that teaching the young about great leaders such as Washington, Lincoln, Jefferson, Madison, Adams and the like, is worthless. Even Kennedy or Reagan pale in comparison. Instead, our teaching has nothing to do with greatness, moral character, self-initiation, determination, leadership and the like. At least on the grand scale - as there are a few, as evidenced by the soldiers that guard the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, that aspire to greatness.
Will we see another George Washington? Will we be around for one to surface? Or, will Grand Theft Auto be our moral compass; American Idol or vocational directive; Simpsons (pick one) be our examples and Game-Show Millions be our only hope
It has been happening for years. Here and there, someone tries to speak up, speak out and gets silenced. They are sent to the remote corners of Alaska, packaged and delivered to the less desireable, or otherwise shown the door. This shunned and ostersized person meekly tries to survive and recover from the backlash of words, rants and raves. Basically, their lives become a product of "hate." Changed by "hate." Derailed. Discarded. Destroyed.
Hate is the correct word for it - though many would say that it is in academia's best interest, that the student mind is being protected, that foundations are being strengthen. Basically the politically correct term for what would otherwise be incorrect and intolerable if released on the "educated."
This is changing.
Slowly, a few minds are emerging that will speak up, take a stand and withstand the berrage of discrediting comments. In the academic world - and I would further argue, the world in general - logic, thought and speech from the silence but majority view is considered intolerant, closed minded and narrow; it is extremist, hateful and illogical.
I am talking about the debate between Darwinism and Intelligent Design (ID). How many times have you heard of a student that writes a paper on ID or creationism and is nearly expelled. At the very least he/she is told to rewrite, omit or face serious consequences. What about the student wearing a simple t-shirt promoting something other than the Big Bang?
The change is slow, and...yet to be determined as to whether it will fully happen. I submit, that it must happen. Not that ID, Creationism or another theory would be crammed down others throats; no, rather that these and new theories be tested, studied, considered, free to be a part of the academic discussion rather than being ridiculed and scorned. If ideas should be championed in the world, where else but the academic stage? What would Descartes, Socrates, Galileo and a host of other thinkers say to today's so-called educators?
My challege is that you go see Ben Stein's Documentary: Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed. The title says it all. Free speech is not being allowed; thought police are high on the hunt and if the silence majority do not speak up and act . . . who knows where we will soon be...take these words as warning:
"The philosophy in the schoolroom in one generation will be the philosophy of the government in the next." - Abraham LincolnUnfortunately, those seeking to destroy his very beliefs and the beliefs of so many in America, have taken his words and used them as a battle charge to ruin America. If we do not take Lincoln's words -
as he meant them - and stand against the tide of liberalism, we will see homosexuality being taught to children without parental consent, abortion taken to the extreme, our Constitution thrown out the window by mis-use, history will be re-written and so much more.
The testiment of our time is that we are bummed. Leadership in America pretty much stinks (I didn't use sux, because I am trying to encourage my kids not too). Worse yet - they don't get that they stink. ...and we aren't talking body odor!
Morals are non-existent. Lies are the language. Ambiguity reigns. Tolerance has a strong hold - no, a strangle-hold on this nation. It is all crazy.
But the NYtimes has an article that indicates Americans think we are headed for the big "flush!" That is right - 81% of us say we are doomed and heading in the wrong direction. Man, what an opportunity for a candidate to shine! Won't happen though, because the media will not allow it.
First, we are not in a recession! By definition, we are not:
1) . The act of withdrawing or going back. 2). An extended decline in general business activity, typically two consecutive quarters of falling real gross national product.
1We are in a slow down economy, but not a recession and we need to talk it up. The media is painting the worst picture possible so that the elections may be rigged. Granted things are tight and sometime appear bleak - but restaurants are full, techno gadgets fly off the shelves, new cars on the road, etc. Businesses aren't closing, new businesses are thriving. Travel is high - even with the gas prices. Mad at $4 gas - think about the cost of your coke...on a gallon scale! Or milk for that matter!
Perseception people. State of Mind. Intelligence - get out there and fight off the whining left media. Turn the TV off and enjoy life, your kids, friends and family. By a dog - that will change everything. We got a weenie dog (as my youngest calls her) - Lizzie Lu is her name and except for the potty training - she is great!

Never mind Nafta...
Times just get busy and you can't get around to update. Life goes on . . . and with three active kids it's full speed ahead! You don't think I want to post at 1am do you?
Here's the talk: Will the voting
personnel in Indiana stop the voters from voting as they wish, rather than registered? Democrats are fighting mad. Literally, they cannot believe that OH and TX ended as they did. Republicans fought back, pulled one of their pranks and voted who they wanted to be in the race for President of the United States. Republicans crossed over. . .now, the
Dems are at each other like no ones business and the party may explode by the time it is all said and done. But, they do not like this. The media is in a frenzy. There is talk of making sure Republicans only vote Republican. What will happen in the next primaries...
My question is: if we are making this fuss, why is it
ok for the
Dems to have done (passed tense) this with McCain? Like it or not, that is why he is in the running. Secondly, why is it
ok for Hillary to push for convicts to have the right to vote? Why do the democrats bus "voters" in by truckloads? Why is it that Elliot
Spitzer (NY) wants illegal
aliens to have driver's license? ...So they can register to vote...millions of leaching illegals and their hope is that they vote democratic (because they preach inclusion, tolerance, amnesty).
Clearly with the media on their side the democrats try to make reality out of their weird idea world - sad thing is...it appears they are making strides.
NOW THIS: April 15
th is no
respecter of persons! The Clinton's must file. The big scoop yesterday (4/3) "what will their taxes be?" The have made well over 50 MILLION DOLLARS! Am I against that - BY ALL MEANS, ***NO!*** This is America - greatest nation in existence! But they try America like dirt, talk us down, brown-nose lie about us and otherwise disrespect the nation that upheld them - as much as they spit on our face. Seriously.
"But the deal is, you are evil if you are rich. The rich don't pay taxes - they use loopholes. The rich get away with it all and the middle class gets the shaft. " These are the very essential things the democrats preach - and want you to believe. Yet they are raking in the bucks,
livin' it up, jet around in private planes, big
SUVs and cars, live in big homes/condos/etc. They are the
epitome of
hypocrisy! Yet America thinks they are saints. Grief!
Clinton Takes Texas and Ohio - Elephants on Charge!
Interesting day. Clinton pulled off nearly all states in the second largest primary for the 2008 election year. But more interesting and even sad is the fact that the media is so up in arms that the Republicans, Conservatives and specifically Rush Limbaugh had an impact on the primary - effectively disrupting their new star's rise to the White House. They have cried fowl all day because Conservative talk shows and Republicans effectively stepped across the aisle and voted for Clinton.
What is funny in all this - I subscribe to the obvious thought about how the Democrats crossed over and voted for McCain. Same reasoning - and it was not to see him in the White House in the fall. Yet the liberal media cannot stand it when anyone else uses their tactics to effectively disrupt their plan.
Regardless of your thoughts about Rush, you gotta admit - especially if you call yourself conservative - he has good thoughts, plans and points. He also received tons of quality free advertisement today in the media.
Fact is, and I have stated this in my blog several times - the Republicans have wasted 8 yrs. They screwed up on their mandate. They screwed up on acting
credibly and confidently - so now we appear weak, undecided, divided and without direction. We appear to be satisfied with the status
quo or what will be the status
quo....but we should have groomed a better candidate.
But really, this is not not even an original idea - I do not think. Rush has stated again today that the Republicans have got to fight - and where is our fight? Why will we not fight? What will it take for us to fight? We must get over the fact that we do not have "the candidate we want" or that "Bush screwed up." Get over it!! Now, let's get behind McCain - there is too much at stake. We can voice what we want to see happen and be "the people" that will direct policy.
We must fight. The glimmer of fight started yesterday at the voting booths. Clinton is still in the race and closed the gap of delegates. Pennsylvania is next. Let us keep the ball rolling. With a fight, we can see the White House. We can then voice the American desire to be strong globally, in defense, in capital, we can state our desire to tighten the borders. We can make strides to correct problems within our
healthcare - it is a huge issue. But we do not want - no matter what the media says - government controlled
healthcare.
Keep the fight. Gain knowledge. Spread the word.
Next up: what about Obama's weak stance on NAFTA? Likely, this heavily influenced voters in Ohio. Of course, Clinton threw the heavy artillery towards this - yet, Mr. Clinton signed it into existence....and Bush One, sent it to Senate.....
